5 Jewelry Making Hacks - Tips to Make Designing Jewelry Easier!

I love learning ways to make my jewelry making easier, and last week Wyatt gave a ton of great tips and tricks in his Facebook Live Video where he shared 5 Jewelry Making Hacks! Without further ado, here they are:

Hack #1: Use a Tacky Mat to secure the Tassel Maker to your work surface, and use the Tassel Maker to make Tassels.

Tassels are still everywhere now. Why not make your own? The Beadalon Tassel Maker makes it easy to make matching tassels for earrings and embellishments of all kids. While the Tacky Mat comes with 4 suction cups to stick it down onto a non-porous surface, we've found that the Tacky Mat is a great way to secure the tool to ALL surfaces. Bonus tip: rinse your Tacky Mat with warm water to clean it off and recharge it!

Hack #2: If you've been paying attention, you already know about Hack #2 - the Beadalon Bead Stringing Wire Label. Candie Cooper made the perfect visual guide to break down all of the information you need. Remember: you want to choose wire that will fill the holes of your beads as much as possible to minimize abrasion.

And that's all I have to say about that.....

Hack #3: Bead Bumpers. Seriously, Bead Bumpers! If you haven't tried using Bead Bumpers yet, stop reading and order them here. Use them at the end of your designs to take up the extra slack. Use them in between beads to mimic the look of knotting or to help with drape. You're welcome.

Hack #4: Knot Pearls with the Beadalon Knotter Tool

Sure, you can put knots in between pearls with a tweezer or an awl, but this way is so much easier! Wyatt can knot up a 16 inch necklace in under 4 minutes. #goals

Hack #5: Finish off the ends of your Memory Wire with the Memory Wire Finishing Pliers.

You could get out the glue and the end caps, but it's super fast to bend a loop on the end to finish off your Memory Wire. This tool has a better grab than a regular Round Nose Pliers - make sure you grab all the way down in the inside part of the tool. It will also give you consistently sized loops. Add a dangle, and you're good to go!

So there you go - 5 Great Hacks to help make your jewelry making easier.

Happy Beading!
